
What are Unified Mosques ?Islam has only one holy book (the Qur'an) which has remained unchanged everywhere in the World since it was brought to us by Apostle Muhammad. However, over the past fourteen hundred years, as Islam spread, different cultures and philosophies have influenced the original book and have been incorporated into the religion from outside. At this time, Islam is identified and presented more by its various cultural practices than by what is said in the Qur'an. These differences have prevented Muslims from achieving the equity, peace, and harmony that were the intention of the religion brought to us by Apostle Muhammad. In order to achieve equity, peace, and harmony among the people of the World, we at the Unified Mosques are going back to Islam in its original form brought to us by Apostle Muhammad. Therefore, at the Unified Mosques, we are only Muslims: there is no division of Sunni, Shiite, Sufi, or any of their sub-sects. We respect these schools of thought and |
recognize that a person may wish to follow it for his own personal enrichment. However, in order to avoid conflict and disunity, at the Unified Mosques we focus on what all Muslims have in common: Allah, the Qur'an, and the actions (Sunna) of the Apostle Muhammad contain in the Qur'an. Islam- World Unified Mosques (Islam WUM) is an organization dedicated to teaching and implementing the guidance given by Allah to mankind in the Qur'an. Islam WUM achieves these goals by establishing, incorporating mosques worldwide under an organizational system, uniform constitution, and by-laws that ensure democratic operation, uniformity of content, purpose, and direction.
